I’m Cheryl. I am an artist in Fife, Scotland and I paint for my own joy. If I can make people smile, well that’s a bonus.
I paint every day in acrylic or goache . Right now I am teaching myself soft pastel painting.
I’m usually found walking around my home studio with paint in my hair or up a hill somewhere with my dog, which helps me think up new ideas.
After playing around with different painting scenes and colour, I’ve developed a naive / folk art style which I’m most comfortable with. I didn’t go to art school so I don’t know the art “rules”, I just paint what’s in my heart at the time. I very rarely know what the painting is going to be until it’s created.
Coastal scenes, landscapes, trees, gardens, poppies, peacocks, pheasants, dancers, mothers, cityscapes, couple paintings & more, are some of my featured subjects .
I like to use my palette knife painting techniques to capture precious moments through a modern impressionistic style.
It’s such a privilege to have people purchase my art to hang in their home. From my wee stalls over the years, and online, my art has now sold around the world. Thank you to everyone who has ever bought a painting from me.
I currently live in a wee village in Fife Scotland with an oversized puppy and 3 crazy cats in our tiny house of love.
My favourite things are walks in the countryside, and all the amazing people that there are to meet on our journey.
