I first learnt how to sew in the 1950’s, sitting beside my grandmother on her Singer treadle sewing machine, collecting scraps to make pictures in a basket.
Having raised a family I began making quilts and again collecting fabric, which eventually evolved into making pictures which went to Family and friends. Commissions followed and then I entered some Christmas bunting into a competition with Country Living Magazine. The bunting subsequently went onto show in London, Glasgow and Harrowgate.
Since then I joined the artists in Staffordshire and have exhibited successfully in 2016 in venues including Shugborough Hall and Wedgwood.
I have always been fascinated by folk /naive art and I’m generally influenced by the changing seasons, nature and villages being quite passionate about the lovely Isles we live in.
