When I was at work I used to draw lots of illustrations for the professional e-learning courses that I created, mainly using a tablet. On holiday I brought out the coloured pencils and drew numerous sketches wherever I was.
In fact, I get the urge to sketch anywhere that I am, even in a hospital waiting room!
In 2019 I found Neil Kerber’s brilliant class where he emphasised that drawing/painting was for fun, and need not be photorealistic, and I read about Hockney’s use of the iPad and Pencil. I bought the equipment, and have never looked back.
I try to bring humour and a little story into my paintings, and lots and lots of colour. I have a sort of cartoony style which I think fits the naïve form.
