About

I have been drawing and painting constantly since I was a child and knew I just wanted to be an artist when I grew up! I studied graphic design at Epsom School of Art and Design in Surrey and Illustration at Southampton. When I left, I decided to paint and exhibit instead, so that’s what I did. I rented a studio in Wimbledon for a few years, so I undertook commissions and participated in group shows.

In 2002, I moved to France, where I continued to paint, developing a style considered as ‘naïve’. Since living in France, I have exhibited extensively all over Europe, in the U.K. and in Canada. My images have been licensed for wall art in the United States, and my paintings have been sold to collectors worldwide.

My inspiration comes mostly from nature; I love painting animals and solitary figures in dreamlike settings. I like to try to create a particular atmosphere using light and shadows in my work.

I use acrylics more than oils for convenience, especially when doing commissioned pieces, but I happily use either. Occassionaly I enjoy using coloured pencils on paper.
