About
I’ve had a passion for art ever since I could first hold a paintbrush. At 17, I was due to go to Southampton and study fine art, but I joined the Navy on a bit of a last-minute whim instead. My love of art never left me, and after several years painting superheroes for the children, I resumed creating contemporary paintings a few years ago.
I am based in Cornwall and take inspiration from the beautiful coast path with gorgeous wildflowers and little harbour villages. I use acrylic and oil paints in vibrant, joyful colours and enjoy some abstract splashy flower paintings, too. I also love to paint other areas of the UK I have been to, such as Whitby and the Forth Road Bridge. One of my paintings, Night Swimming, was chosen and featured in The Artist magazine last year.
My art has been sold in galleries, including Colour and Space in Perranporth and Pure Art Gallery in Milford Haven, as well as in online galleries, such as Art2arts and Artfinder, and regularly in Plymouth Auction Rooms’ contemporary art events. My work is recognisable – a fellow artist told me they could be anywhere in the world and know a painting was one of mine, which was lovely to hear. But the best feeling is when a customer tells you that your painting has brought joy to their home.
