Bethany Joel
Meeple People
About
Bethany studied Art and Design at Richmond College and then went on to study Fashion Promotion and Illustration at The Surrey Institute of Art and Design. Soon after studying she became a Mum to two boys and stayed home to look after them until they were at full time school. She then became a teaching Assistant at a private boy’s school in Richmond and then to another boy’s school in Sheen where she became an invaluable member of the staff with all her graphic design skills.
Several times over the years Bethany has been part of the family exhibitions with her parents and brother in St Ives, Walton on Thames, Chichester, and other venues. She moved to Cornwall in 2019 and helped to run her parents’ art gallery in Mousehole until it closed in 2021…. She has always sewed and painted, and her bespoke free machine embroidery cushions, door stops and “meeple” are in much demand. Bethany is co-founder of The Joel Gallery.
