About
Kim Watkins has been a full-time artist for over 10 years having previously spent many years working as a Staff nurse and teaching assistant and bringing up her two girls. She lives happily in South devon with her husband and rescue dog and creates unique, naïve pictures out of old and used paper and card and sews them together on her sewing machine. Each naïve creation contains engaging and nostalgic materials, rescued from a large variety of sources, each piece is therefore, not just a visual narrative but also tells a story through the papers she has used.
She has always recycled things and loves the fact that she’s using other people’s rubbish in a fun and wacky way! She takes inspiration from all around her, it also satisfies her inner ‘Womble”, to pick up the stuff other folks leave behind.
